Hours Reduced: The Seas Pavilion Now Closing Early at EPCOT

Starting earlier this week, The Seas Pavilion started closing early at EPCOT. Typically, The Seas with Nemo & Friends attraction and the pavilion as a whole, stay open until park close. Turtle Talk with Crush typically closes a little bit earlier than park close. Now, The Seas Pavilion will be closing at 7pm for the foreseeable future. Here’s what we know.

The Seas Pavilion Reduced Hours to Start 2025

There is signage in front of the pavilion, informing guests of the early closure. While it’s not uncommon for The Seas to close early from time to time, it is uncommon for the pavilion to close early for months at a time. Currently, there is no end to the early closures, with park hours posted into early Spring.

Walt Disney World has not returned requests for comment about the early closure, so we’re left having to make an educated guess as to the reason. If I had to guess, I’d imagine that the early closure is related to ongoing construction inside of the pavilion. We’ll take a look at the construction, and then I’ll expand on my hypothesis.

Currently, there are construction walls surrounding the “up” escalators at the exit to The Seas with Nemo & Friends attraction. The construction walls are on the first and second floors of the pavilion, requiring guests to utilize the stairs or elevator to reach the second-floor viewing area.

So, why does this construction require the entire pavilion to close early? Again, guessing here, but we imagine that there might be a bedtime when the pavilion needs to be quiet and work can’t take place. Perhaps closing the pavilion to guests two hours early allows crews to get to work a bit earlier and get more work done before fish bedtime.

I could be completely wrong too, and if Disney offers more insight as to the reason why they’re planning on shortening the operating hours for the pavilion for the next few months, I’ll provide an update. As for now, plan on getting two hours less of Nemo every day at EPCOT.
