Today is the opening day for the adults-only GEO-82 Spaceship Earth bar at EPCOT. We’ll have a full review of our experience later today, but first, we want to highlight a wonderful guest recovery action from the team despite some challenges.
GEO-82 Complimentary Souvenir Wine Glass
Unfortunately, the previously announced souvenir wine glass and rocks glass were unavailable for purchase today at the grand opening of GEO-82. Of course, some guests were unhappy with the situation, and some were quite vocally unhappy, but the leadership at GEO-82 pivoted quickly, gifting guests a complimentary GEO-82 wine glass upon the completion of their dining experience.
It was a wonderful move from the GEO-82 team, highlighting the high level of service that we think will soon define the Spaceship Earth lounge.
The Luigi Bormioli wine glass, created with traditional Italian craftsmanship and new-age glassmaking technology, features lead-free crystal of the highest quality and is dishwasher safe.
The wine glass (pictured above) and the rocks glass (included in the picture below) retail for $35 each. Cast Members did not know when the glassware would be available for purchase, but did mention some issues with the My Disney Experience app. It is believed that the purchase of the glassware will be completed via the app, so that the merchandise can be available for you to take with you at the end of your meal.
Kudos to the GEO-82 team on not only a wonderful opening day (review to come), but also on a wonderful guest experience when facing unexpected challenges.
