Good morning from Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where a new section of the Encanto attraction is being built! This new wing for the Casita adventure ride expands what is expected to be a large show building. Earlier this month, we got a close look at the new interior sections that are being built. Now, we have a first look at a new section of the building rising out of the dirt pit that used to be part of Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama – an area themed to a roadside amusement park.
New Section of Encanto Attraction Being Built
This new section brings construction closer to the soon-to-close guest walkway that cuts through DinoLand USA. In just a few days, DinoLand USA will close forever, and be transformed into a Tropical Americas-themed area featuring an attraction themed to Encanto, and retheme of the DINOSAUR attraction into an Indiana Jones-themed ride.
That said, work is already well underway on creating the Encanto-themed attraction. The first concrete forms for the attraction building were spotted back in October 2025, with the first vertical piece of steel being placed in early December.
Now, a new section of the ride building is being built. Here’s a look at the new section from our visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom earlier this morning!
The new Encanto attraction will follow Antonio the day after he received his magical gift – the ability to communicate with animals. As we explore alongside Antonio, we never know which member of the Madrigal family we might bump into!
Logistically, there will be a large show building hidden behind the Casita facade. We got a first look at the layout of the land thanks to a scale model at the D23 Expo, followed by a detailed permit that outlined the changes expected.
