Taylor Swift has ended months of speculation about her involvement with Toy Story 5, announcing a new song titled “I Knew It, I Knew You” for the new movie. The announcement came via CD sales on her website for different versions of the song. Here’s the latest.

THE SONG

Swift penned “I Knew It, I Knew You” after seeing Toy Story 5 in its early stages. She posted on Twitter announcing the news, writing that she wrote the song immediately after leaving a screening. The song arrives on streaming platforms on June 5. Toy Story 5 opens in theaters June 19, 2026.

It’s a Toy Story 🤠

You knew it! My new original song “I Knew It, I Knew You” for Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 will be yours on June 5th.

I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story movie. I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?

The new song was written and produced by Swift and Jack Antonoff. It will be released wherever music is streamed and purchased, starting on Friday, June 5. The single will be featured on the Toy Story 5 soundtrack when it releases on June 19.

Inspired by the rootin’ tootin’ cowgirl Jessie’s ongoing journey in Toy Story 5 that began back in Toy Story 2, “I Knew It, I Knew You” also marks a return to Swift’s country roots, blending styles that have defined her record-breaking career as a songwriter and artist.

Toy Story 5 director and screenwriter Andrew Stanton said, “It’s incredible just how meaningful it’s been having Taylor write and perform this song. Her connection to Jessie and the immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable. The song is so deeply connected to Toy Story. So much so that on first listen, it instantly felt like it had always belonged there, like a long-lost family member. It was kismet.”

THE REVEAL

The announcement came this morning after a countdown clock on Taylor Swift’s website ticked down to a 2pm ET reveal. The hints had been building for weeks. Over the weekend, billboards featuring the initials “TS” appeared around the country, which fans noted could stand for both Taylor Swift and Toy Story. Swift’s re-recorded 1989 (Taylor’s Version) album artwork was also quietly updated to feature clouds in the background in place of seagulls. Speculation actually began earlier, in late April, when a cloud-patterned countdown briefly appeared on Swift’s website before disappearing.

COLLECTOR’S EDITION CDS

Three versions of the song are available as collector’s edition CD singles through Taylor Swift’s official store. The standard version, an acoustic version, and a piano version are each pressed on their own disc. Every CD comes in a jewel case with a double-sided collectible cover. Side A features unique Toy Story 5 imagery, and Side B features a unique photo of Taylor Swift. Each disc also includes its own collectible artwork.

Each CD is priced at $3.99 and is limited to one per customer. All three are available for 48 hours, closing on June 3, 2026, at 1:59pm EST, or while supplies last. Available to U.S. customers only.

You can order all three collector’s edition CDs at TaylorSwift.com before the window closes Wednesday afternoon.
