Good morning from EPCOT, where trees have been removed from the central planter in front of Spaceship Earth. With the removal of the trees, an unobstructed view of Spaceship Earth has returned to the EPCOT entrance. This is the first time that we can remember this unobstructed view being available for years. Typically, trees have blocked the lower half of Spaceship Earth. Here’s a look!

A CLEAR VIEW RETURNS
For years, taller plantings in the central planter blocked the lower half of Spaceship Earth from the entrance walkway. With trees now removed from the planter, replaced by low white and red flowers, the full view of Spaceship Earth returns.
The change opens up one of the most photographed sightlines at Walt Disney World. From the entrance plaza, guests can now take in the full structure, from the base up through the top of the sphere, without obstruction.
A LOOK AT THE NEW VIEW
Our photos show the replanted central planter and the clear view it provides. The low flower bed sits directly in front of Spaceship Earth, framing the sphere rather than hiding it.
The trees lining both sides of the entrance walkway remain in place, in bloom with pink flowers, so the framing along the path is unchanged. The difference is entirely in the center bed.
The view is beautiful, but it will likely only remain clear until the start of the 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival later this Summer. We expect that Disney will decorate the flower bed as they have in years past.
