Permit Filed for 11 New Buildings at Disney’s Flamingo Crossings

Disney has filed a permit for 11 new “Shell buildings” for their Flamingo Crossings development west of Walt Disney World. The permit lists Hoar Construction, a common Disney contractor, for the construction that will take place in the heart of an upcoming town center.

While there are no details as to the tenants of the new shell buildings, the permit does list some street addresses that don’t exist yet such as Ambersweet Lane, Sugar Belle Drive, and Ruby Red Place. Even though the streets don’t exist yet, the parcel IDs match a swath of land that has yet to be developed.

As you can see in the aerial photo below, there are some hotels under construction around the perimeter road of the empty lot that will be used for the construction of the 11 shell buildings.

Previously filed permits list Wendy’s, 7-11, Hess, and Walgreens as future tenants of the general area. We also know that a Target is planned for this area.

There is also a massive complex nearby that will be used by Disney College Program participants in the future.

    1. How depressingly ironic that the reason WDW exists was because Walt Disney hated the suburban sprawl development that grew around Disneyland and wanted to create a new type of planning & building. Iger’s WDW has become the creator of that very same heinous suburban sprawl that Walt Disney thought the Florida property would be large enough to keep at bay. Poor guy would loathe what Iger has done with what he built.
