Disney Continues to Shift Park Pass Availability in Favor of Annual Passholders

Disney has seemingly redistributed some more Disney Park Pass reservation availability, according to the calendar.

It looks like Disney has added a bit more availability to the end of July for Annual Passholders, as well as more availability to the second week of August, when the lowest Annual Pass levels return to the parks. As of publish time, only August 7th and 8th are fully booked for Annual Passholders.

Disney maintains that they are not increasing the overall capacity of the theme parks when they make availability changes like this, which means that they are pulling from other “buckets” like Resort Guest and regular ticket availability to allow more Passholders to visit.

Disney is likely staring down the barrel of a slow summer ahead at the theme parks, and a move like this would indicate that they realize that Annual Passholders will be critical in keeping the parks above water financially. Disney has also opened up availability for Cast Members to visit the theme parks for the first time since they reopened.

Furthermore, Disney has incentivized Cast Members and Annual Passholders to spend money when they come to the theme parks, offering 50% and 30% discounts on merchandise, respectively.

    1. I have a dumb question: IF you already have a Park Reservation confirmed, does that mean we can sit back and relax? I worry that we’ll get “bumped” for APH confirmations.

On a side note, even if my trip isn’t until October, I’ve already made 3 Disney Dining reservations via Open Table in case my 60-day window isn’t letting me book some restaurants at Disney Springs.

    2. if there are not many people coming to florida for vacations, why is the month of august all filled up and there is no availiability for passholders to make more reservations. We paid for the privilage of going when we want too, make it so we can make more than 3 reservations at a time or elce take the restrictions off, we didnt break the contract , you did.
