‘Frozen – Live at the Hyperion’ and ‘Mickey and the Magical Map’ Reportedly Closed Permanently at Disneyland

According to social media reports, including from the Cast of the shows, Frozen Live at the Hyperion and Mickey and the Magical Map are both officially closed.

Among the 2,700 non-union roles that were part of a larger 28,000 person workforce layoff, Disneyland listed 129 roles in their entertainment department. With the ongoing, extended closure of the Disneyland Resort theme parks due to COVID-19, and with live entertainment one of the slowest aspects of a Disney vacation to return at Disney World, the cuts in entertainment were foreshadowed. We wish everyone the best and send thanks for years of entertainment and joy.

Recently, Disney World brought back their own indoor Frozen show, A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, although cast size and production style is vastly different than Frozen – Live at the Hyperion.

    1. This is very sad for both shows. I hope they change there mind about mickey and the magical map. For the longest time I’ve had an idea at the hyperion theater for a Newsies show based on the Broadway show. Kinda add more Broadway into the west coast parks. What do you think?

    2. Gov Newsom is destroying California. The performing arts community are almost all democrats. Will they realize the democrats don’t care about them or their jobs. Newsom just wants more power, he is willing to see the arts destroyed just to seize more power. Recall Newsom.
