As Disney continues to slowly but surly make progress on the necessary demolition of existing structures for the EPCOT overhaul project, new work is taking place on the northwest section of the Innoventions buildings to make way for a new Moana-inspired attraction.
As a recap, Disney is planning on creating Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana where the northwest section of Innoventions currently stands. Here’s some concept art.
Here’s a before/after of the central “spine” area just behind Spaceship Earth. Journey of Water will be the lush, green space to the right of Spaceship Earth in the second photo below.

Back to the recent work, we can see that Disney is starting to (rather carefully) tear into the Innoventions structure. Disney has recently removed glass that hid some of the interior of the building.
Disney has not given an opening date for the Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana attraction.
