While nighttime spectaculars remain suspended at Walt Disney World, Disney did make a recent change to their My Disney Experience digital map that could hint at the first show that might return when appropriate.

As you can see in the screenshot below, Sorcerer Mickey has been given a prominent placement atop the mountain where most of the action during the show takes place.

While there have been rumblings that Fantasmic could return first out of any of the nighttime shows given the fact that the seating lends well to physical distancing, it’s possible that what is holding the show back from returning is that it would be extremely difficult to ensure the cast of the show remain distanced from each other throughout the performance and in backstage areas.

Of course, while an update to the digital map might be seen as a good sign for the show, it’s possible that Disney simply wanted to get some new art in place for the new year. To say that the old art was dated would be kind. Here’s a look back at the previous art.
