Disney continues to push forward on the World Celebration shopping and dining complex at EPCOT. As a reminder, Disney is reimagining EPCOT as four distinct neighborhoods, with World Celebration right in the middle of what used to be called Future World.

As part of the reimagining, Disney is refreshing MouseGear and creating a new eatery where Electric Umbrella used to be. Here’s a look at the new concept art for World Celebration – with the new MouseGear and eatery contained within the ‘C’-shaped building on the left.

Recently, we stopped by EPCOT to check in on the Leave a Legacy and Harmonious projects and decided to grab some photos of the World Celebration work as well.

We’ll start with a couple of photos taken from under Spaceship Earth, looking towards the Guest Relations building on the east side of Spaceship Earth. This is where the new restaurant will be located.

The restaurant will serve as a replacement for Electric Umbrella and concept art shows that guests can expect some pizza on the menu.

Here’s a wide view of the structure as it stood earlier this morning. As you can see, there was a flurry of activity.

Before we look at the new installation that took place today, here’s a look back at yesterday, when workers were fireproofing the structure.

If we look deeper into the building, we can see some black steel rising from the ground.

Here’s another angle of the structure. It’s too early to say what this could be for, but its position within the construction site roughly lines up with what could be an entrance from the breezeway that runs between the new MouseGear location and the restaurant.

Before we move on to the latest work taking place at the new MouseGear location, we spotted some workers building what appears to be a ceiling support of some sort.

Steelworkers could be found throughout the site.

Turning our attention to the reimagined space for MouseGear, we can see multiple entrances to the shop taking shape – two in the photo immediately below, and more in the following photos.

Changing our angle a bit, we can clearly see the entrances take shape. In total, there appear to be three entrances that will face the “interior” of World Celebration.

On the opposite side of the structure, there will very likely be an entrance near the playground area and Cool Wash. This was an entrance in the previous version of MouseGear too.

An interesting bit of work caught our attention today as heavy equipment began new work on what appears to be an infrastructure project. This work wasn’t visible just a couple of days ago.

It’s encouraging to see Disney start to pay attention to the middle of the World Celebration project as we all wait to see what makes the cut from concept art to final product.
