Guests visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom can now find a little bit of nighttime entertainment with the return of the Tree of Life Awakenings and Beacon of Magic projection shows. Throughout the summer, Animal Kingdom didn’t stay open late enough for the projection shows to be presented due to the sunset taking place after the park closed. Now, with sunset around 7:15pm and park close at 8pm, Disney World has restarted the projection shows. We made it out to Disney’s Animal Kingdom last night to catch the shows. The projection shows started at 7:45pm and ran past park close, but make sure to check the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit for the most up-to-date showtimes.

The newest full awakening is themed to The Lion King, and debuted back in 2019 after an Annual Passholder preview of the Rivers of Light: We Are One nighttime show.

While not a full Tree of Life “awakening”, the Beacon of Magic is a shorter show that plays throughout the night to celebrate Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.
