Crowds & Wait Times Build to Peak Week at Disney World

Walt Disney World is currently experiencing its busiest week of the year, and it’s not even peak week yet. With the heaviest crowds and longest wait times typically seen during the week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, crowds are still starting to build and wait times are climbing as the holiday season kicks into full gear. Here’s a look at the wait times so far, courtesy of thrill-data.com.

Yesterday was the third-busiest day out of the last 500+ days and this week is shaping up to be the busiest of the year (so far). Here’s a look at the daily, year-to-date graph. Yesterday was the third-busiest day of the year and today is the tenth-busiest day of the year so far.

So far, this week is averaging the highest wait times of the year at an average of 54 minutes per attraction.

December is averaging 8 minutes more per attraction than the next-closest month this year.

Crowds and wait times will continue to grow this week into next week, typically peaking out December 29-31 before slowing down a bit into the new year and then normalizing a bit in the second half of January.
