Good morning from Disney’s Animal Kingdom where construction walls now surround the former Wilderness Explorers Club House UP! meet and greet area. The construction walls expanded recently from the nearby entrance to Zootopia: Better Zoogether to envelop the meet and greet area. As a result, Dug and Russell have been evicted, and we’re told it’s permanent. Here’s the latest!
Dug & Russell Meet and Greet Relocated at Animal Kingdom
Before we take a look at the former Wilderness Explorers Club House, let’s first explore Animal Kingdom and try to find the Wilderness Explorers themselves, Dug and Russell. Right now, the duo is meeting on the backside of the Tree of Life, nearest the bridge to Africa. Due to ongoing construction in the area, the Dug and Russell meet and greet is only accessible from the west side of the Tree of Life, near the Creature Comforts Starbucks.
Zootopia Meet & Greet Location Under Construction
While we understand that the exact location of the Dug & Russell meet and greet is still in flux, one thing that is reportedly set in stone is that they will not be returning to the Wilderness Explorers Club House. Instead, that venue will become the new home for a Zootopia 2 meet and greet with Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde.
Walt Disney World has not confirmed that this is the new Zootopia meet and greet location, but the area is now behind construction walls, and it is our understanding that this is where Nick and Judy will land. It makes a ton of sense given that the entrance to the all-new Zootopia: Better Zoogether Tree of Life Theater show is just steps away.
Walt Disney World previously released the promo photo below showing Nick and Judy’s new Zootopia 2 costumes. It’s important to note that this is not the location that they will meet at starting next month. Here’s a photo, followed by a blurb about the upcoming meet and greet.
Not only will you see Judy and Nick at Zootopia: Better Zoogether! but the pair will be greeting guests at Discovery Island near the Tree of Life at the Zoogether Day Gathering Spot.
You’ll find them sporting new looks from Zootopia 2, and they’ll be delighted to give you a hug and shake your paw.
