On a recent visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we spotted new steel installed at Harryhausen’s in the shape of crossed chopsticks. It matches concept art for the restaurant’s marquee. The progress is one of several facade updates now visible across Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Chopstick-Shaped Steel Rises for Harryhausen’s Construction in Monstropolis

Chopsticks Take Shape at Harryhausen’s
From a vantage point near BaseLine Tap House, we spotted a new steel detail rising at the Harryhausen’s construction site. Two crossed steel beams now sit in front of the building. They form an X shape, and they will eventually be themed to chopsticks, denoting the entrance to the table-service restaurant.
The crossed steel matches concept art Disney released for Harryhausen’s. That art shows a large eyeball resting atop two crossed chopsticks above the restaurant’s entrance sign. The sign plays on Harryhausen’s origins as the sushi restaurant referenced in Monsters, Inc. In that film, Mike Wazowski takes Celia to dinner there. With the steel now in place, the structural framework for that element appears to be taking shape ahead of the finished facade.
Disney is building Harryhausen’s inside the former Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano building. Disney officially confirmed Harryhausen’s by name in June. That confirmation came as part of the H.U.M.A.N. Day backstory for Monstropolis, the in-world celebration marking the first time humans are welcomed into the city.
New Steel Supports Appear on The Glob
Elsewhere in Monstropolis, we noticed new steel supports jutting out from the block wall of the former MuppetVision 3D building. The steel runs behind the layers of scaffolding still wrapping the building. Individual beams protrude just beyond the cinderblock facade underneath.
These supports will likely hold signage for The Glob, the theater replacing MuppetVision 3D. Concept art for The Glob shows an ornate vertical marquee reading “The Glob” mounted to the building’s brick facade. That art also shows a clock tower topped with green trim and a jagged, tooth-like cornice. A scaffolded clock tower at the same building, complete with a working clock face, matches that concept art.
Walt Disney Imagineering filed an electrical permit in July naming Elite A/V Systems Inc. as the contractor for work inside The Glob theater. Disney has confirmed The Glob will house a theater show, though details of the show itself remain unannounced.
PizzeRizzo and Gonzo’s Royal Flush Facade Continues Taking Shape
Nearby, work continues at the former PizzeRizzo and Gonzo’s Royal Flush facade complex. New orange-toned board material has appeared rising from the scaffolding, alongside a black weather-resistant barrier layer beneath it. This new addition can be found at the peak of the roofline above the former venue’s entrance. The exact theming for this space remains a mystery for now.
Crews continue shaping the jagged, tooth-like roofline trim we previously reported on another stretch of facade. We could see crews working directly on the molded detailing. Crews are also repainting a rooftop water tower atop the same complex, with lettering reading “Broadway” being painted over.
