We made it out to Disney’s Animal Kingdom recently to check in on the entrance overhaul project. If you’re unfamiliar with the scope of the work taking place, check out our initial blog post that breaks down the changes according to permits filed with the state.

As far as the latest progress is concerned, there is quite a bit of new construction taking place to the east of the main entrance. Here’s a look around.

We’ll start at the end of the old tram lane as it entered the parking lot. Eventually, this is where the new tram u-turn will be.

Here’s a look at the busiest area of work so far. This looks like it could be one of the future bag check areas. This is near the handicap parking.

The photos below are of the old tram drop off area. According to the permit filed, this will be a new bag check area.

Ground preparation for a concrete pour where the old parking lot tram u-turn area would have been.

Finally, here’s an overview of the old tram drop off area. This view should change considerably in the coming months.

As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com as we continue to bring you coverage of the Animal Kingdom entrance overhaul project.
