As we continue to keep an eye on the World Celebration project at EPCOT, we noticed that some new lighting columns have been installed in the heart of the renamed land around what will eventually be an EPCOT logo planter. We’ll start this article with a look at some concept art to provide background on what we’re looking at when we peer into the construction site.

In this first piece of concept art below, we can see the central EPCOT logo planter in the middle of the World Celebration site.

In a second piece of concept art, we get a closer look at the EPCOT logo planter. This time, the Food & Wine Festival is taking place and a bit of decor can be found in the planter. Disney World has said this Festival Gardens area will rotate decor based on which Festival is currently taking place. For our purposes, we’re interested in the lighting columns on the perimeter of this centralized area. It’s these lighting columns that were recently installed in EPCOT.

Keep in mind that we’re not talking about the massive themed columns installed in the CommuniCore Plaza party area. In the photo below, we can see the massive themed columns in the foreground and the smaller EPCOT planter lighting columns in the distance. We’ll hop on the monorail for a better look.

From the monorail, we get a better look into the heart of the World Celebration construction site and the newly installed lighting columns.

World Celebration will open later this year at EPCOT.
