According to Disney World, the Haunted Mansion attraction will be closed briefly in August for a “routine refurbishment”. Here’s the statement from Disney, including the dates for the closure:
From August 7 to August 9, 2023, Haunted Mansion will be closed for routine refurbishment.
Of course, while Disney claims that the refurbishment is “routine”, they also need to make good on the promise of adding the Hatbox Ghost to the attraction. It’s not immediately clear if three days of closure would be enough to install the figure and reprogram the ride motion, but it might be.
Either way, it would make sense that Disney would want the spooky addition to the Haunted Mansion to be in place for the Halloween Season (assuming they’ll miss the debut of the Haunted Mansion movie).
