According to the Disney World website, Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be closed starting January 8, 2024. While Kali River Rapids has not been added to the refurbishment calendar, it is likely that the attraction will be closed for its annual refurbishment. Typically, the attraction will close in the second week of January and remain closed until the Spring when temperatures warm up a bit.

The white water attraction takes guests through a lush Asian jungle, at least until you stumble upon a logging operation. Guests will get wet when riding Kali River Rapids, and oftentimes soaked as the raft passes near specially designed water features to ensure that you cool off on a hot summer day, including a 20-foot drop near the end of the ride. It’s because of the nature of the attraction to soak guests that the ride is often closed during the coldest months of the year.

Again, the attraction is currently coded as being “closed” and not under “refurbishment”, which means that the dates for closure might shift as Disney World locks in a likely winter refurbishment.
