Following up on our previous report that Kali River Rapids would be closed starting January 8th for an annual refurbishment, Disney World has provided more details. The attraction will be closed starting January 8th, and reopen sometime in mid-March. Here’s the statement:
From January 8, 2024 to mid-March, Kali River Rapids will be temporarily unavailable due to regularly scheduled maintenance.
The white water attraction takes guests through a lush Asian jungle, at least until you stumble upon a logging operation. Guests will get wet when riding Kali River Rapids, and oftentimes soaked as the raft passes near specially designed water features to ensure that you cool off on a hot summer day, including a 20-foot drop near the end of the ride. It’s because of the nature of the attraction to soak guests that the ride is often closed during the coldest months of the year.
