The “multiple parks” option for the Disney Genie+ skip-the-line service is sold out today, marking the second time that the park hopping version of the service has sold out in advance of any individual theme park selling out. It’s an interesting move by Disney as we typically see the service sell out at a specific theme park. It likely signals that Disney is expecting a high utilization of the service by park hopping guests today, and that they anticipate inventory will be low after 2pm when park hopping is allowed.
The wrench in that theory will be when all-day park hopping returns on January 9th. Then, guests can theoretically book Lighting Lanes at any theme park all day long given that park hopping will be allowed all day long. Currently, Disney prevents guests with the “multiple parks” option from choosing a return time before the 2pm park hopping restriction.
