With the Disney Genie suite of offerings debuting on October 19, we wanted to put together a series of Disney Genie FAQ articles that answer some of the most popular questions about the new service. In this article, we’ll answer the question: When Can You Make Disney Genie+ Attraction Selections?

When thinking about when you can make Disney Genie+ attraction selections, we’ll discuss two scenarios – first selection (likely before park arrival) and subsequent selections (after first use).
Disney Genie+ First Selection Time
All guests, regardless of on-site/off-site status, will be able to make their first Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction selection at 7am on the day of their visit.
You can enroll and purchase Disney Genie+ on the day of your visit, and you can do so beginning at midnight or anytime throughout the day.

Disney Genie+ Next Attraction Selection
After guests make their first attraction selection, the next question is: when can you book your next Disney Genie+ attraction?
Immediately
There are two answers here. The first, and probably most common answer is when you redeem your current Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane reservation. Just like with MaxPass or your 4th (5th, 6th, 7th, etc) FastPass+ selection, you will be able to make your next Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction selection the second (or shortly thereafter) that you tap into your current ride’s touchpoint. This will mean that you’ll want to have your phone out the second you enter a Lightning Lane queue to make your next attraction selection.
In Two Hours (120 minutes)
The next scenario is that you will have to wait 120 minutes from your previous selection time to be able to make your next Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane selection. This can happen for a variety of reasons, and there might be some strategy involved here depending on how quickly Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane return times are selling out.

Let’s consider Magic Kingdom and Splash Mountain. Maybe you started your day in Tomorrowland with a rope drop standby queue at Space Mountain because you didn’t want to pay an additional Individual Attraction Selection fee to ride it. From there, you wanted to visit Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, take a spin on the PeopleMover, and slowly make your way into Fantasyland. Not a bad morning, but Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane return times are starting to fill up into the afternoon for Splash Mountain. At 11am, you make a Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane reservation for Splash Mountain, but the return time isn’t until 3:15pm. In this case, you will hit 1pm (120 minutes since you made the Splash Mountain reservation) and you will be able to make a new reservation for another attraction at that time – keeping the 3:15pm return time for Splash Mountain. From there, you can continue to make and redeem Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane selections independent of the Splash Mountain reservation, using the “immediate” or “120-minute” rules as necessary.
