Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel will close in its entirety tomorrow, October 12th, for enhancements to the resort’s flagship property. Disney says the closure is temporary but has not announced a reopening date. Stateside, Disney typically refurbishes its hotels in phases, so a full closure is a bigger step than guests usually see at US resorts. Here’s the latest.
Entire Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel Closure Starting October 12th
IN THIS ARTICLE:
- Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel closes temporarily on October 12th with no reopening date announced.
- Disney Explorers Lodge and Disney’s Hollywood Hotel remain fully operational.
- Renovation work on the hotel’s west side began in June 2026.
Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, the Victorian-themed flagship among the resort’s three hotels, will close entirely starting October 12th. Disney says the hotel is closing for “comprehensive enhancements to elevate our facilities, services, and the overall guest experience.” Beyond that wording, Disney has shared no specifics on what the enhancements cover.
The closure arrives a little over four months after Hong Kong Disneyland wrapped up its year-long 20th anniversary celebration on June 7th.
Where to Stay During the Closure
Disney says its other two hotels at the resort, Disney Explorers Lodge and Disney’s Hollywood Hotel, will remain fully operational. Both hotels will “continue to offer the same high standard of Disney hospitality,” Disney adds.
Guests can book rooms at either hotel through Hong Kong Disneyland’s official website. Disney says it looks forward to welcoming guests back to “a newly enhanced Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel in the future.”
Renovation Work Began in June
Renovation work on the west side of the hotel began in June 2026 and took place daily between 11:00am and 4:00pm. Disney said guests might notice some smell or noise during those hours, while room views would stay the same and all key facilities and services would remain fully operational.
Certain room types were also unavailable for reservations on some dates because of that work. Disney has not said how the west-side project fits into the full closure.
