As we kick off what is expected to be a busy Thanksgiving Week at Walt Disney World, guests who purchased the $15 Disney Genie+ service are finding their skip-the-line options are extremely limited even with hours left to go before the parks close. It’s worth noting that some attraction availability might pop up here and there, but here’s what we saw around 5:30pm today.
At Magic Kingdom, every single attraction was unavailable to book a Lightning Lane for via the Disney Genie+ service shortly before 5:30pm. The a la carte Individual Lightning Attractions were also unavailable for purchase.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, only MuppetVision 3D was available to book via Disney Genie+. Both a la carte Individual Lightning Attractions were unavailable for purchase.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, all Genie+ Lightning Lane options were unavailable and only Expedition Everest was available to purchase for $7 and an immediate return window.
EPCOT had the most availability, and by that, we mean it had at least some options, but they were filling up quickly. The Disney Short Film Festival, Journey into Imagination with Figment, Living with the Land, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, and Spaceship Earth were still available. Both of the a la carte Individual Lightning Lane Attractions were sold out.
While it’s not uncommon for many of the most popular attractions to fill up early in the day, guests have not seen this kind of scarcity since the service launched. Disney CEO Bob Chapek said that nearly one-third of Disney World guests are purchasing the service, which is a significant amount of guests and that number could grow as crowds grow.
