Disney World has updated the My Disney Experience app to version 7.10 and with the update, there are some changes designed to make using Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane easier. Here’s a look at the changes:
Purchase Banner
It’s now easier to find the purchase Disney Genie+ functionality within the app thanks to a banner at the top of the Tip Board section of the app. You can see the “Purchase for Today” banner in our screenshot below.
Lightning Lane Return Window
Another update to the app is the presentation of the Lightning Lane return window on the Tip Board. Previously, Disney would not display your return window for an attraction that you have booked a Lightning Lane for. Instead, it would display the current return time, which is rather pointless if you already have a return time booked. In the latest update of the app, your return window is displayed for attractions that you have a Lightning Lane for. Here’s a look at the before/after.
On the left, you can see that we have booked Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, but it shows the current return window. On the right, we booked a Lightning Lane for Journey Into Imagination with Figment and it displays our return window.
Remembering Selected Park
This is really something that should’ve been included from day one, but the My Disney Experience app now remembers what park you selected as the park you want info for and it will not default back to Magic Kingdom. To change the park that you want to see info for, simply tap “Change Park” at the top of the Tip Board.
