Disneyland has raised the price of their Disney Genie+ service from $20 to $25 – a $5 increase ahead of the holiday season. The price increase comes after Disneyland introduced PhotoPass Lenses to the Disney Genie+ offering, but wasn’t directly related to Lenses. Of course, the next question is – will Disney World increase the price of Disney Genie+?
At $15, the Disney World version of Disney Genie+ is a full $10 cheaper than the Disneyland version. Arguably, the product here is worse due to less Lightning Lane availability because the Genie+ product appears to be utilized more at Walt Disney World. In short, demand is higher than supply, but in the case of Disney Genie+ at Walt Disney World, it’s almost a necessity. Disney CEO Bob Chapek has noted that roughly 50% of guests purchase Disney Genie+, and a price hike seems like it is right around the corner as Disney World braces for a busy holiday season.
As of publish time, Disney Genie+ remains $15 per person, per day at Walt Disney World, but that price point was previously noted to be an introductory rate.
