The cost of Disney Genie+ is $15 today, which is the price that it was from October 2021 until October 12, 2022 when it jumped to $20.
Disney Genie+ is dynamically priced and it can change day to day. Unfortunately, Disney does not publish the price of Disney Genie+ ahead of time, only revealing the price of the skip-the-line product at midnight on the day of. Disney Genie+ is also not available to purchase in advance, forcing guests to wake up, see if the price for that day is reasonable, and then make a purchase and start using the service as early as 7am on the day of their visit.
Disney has said that the maximum that they’d charge for Disney Genie+ would be $22, but that’s only for the month of October. It’s possible, and even likely, that the $22 ceiling is raised as we approach some of the busiest days of the year with Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Disney Genie+ daily pricing can be used as another metric to predict anticipated crowd levels for the day. We already see things like the Disney Park Pass reservation system used as an indicator to reveal the more popular times of the year. Before that, you could effectively build your own crowd calendar based off of Disney’s variable ticket pricing. Now, with Disney Genie+ employing dynamic pricing, it could be another metric to plan your vacation to time up with lower crowds. We need more data to see if Disney World is applying logic to their pricing though, as there is no obvious pattern to pricing just yet. Of course, the Disney World slow season isn’t exactly a secret.
