Over the coming weeks, the exterior of the Tree of Life will be repainted and refurbished at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We stopped by the park this morning to find the Tree of Life Gardens pathway closed off as paint dries after overnight work.
First, here are a few photos of the Tree of Life as seen in the January morning light. A crisp morning without a cloud in the sky made for a perfect reveal as we made our way through The Oasis.
As we got closer, any repainting wasn’t immediately obvious, although we could probably pour through old photos to find a new shade of brown on an antler. We’ll keep an eye on the project over the coming weeks to see if work becomes more noticable. We didn’t see any work taking place this morning, and Cast Members we spoke with said that the work should largely take place overnight.
Pathways along the back side of the Tree of Life remain open, as does the It’s Tough To Be A Bug theater show inside the base of the tree.
The Tree of Life Garden pathway along the front of the Tree of Life is closed off to guests, with no known reopening date.
The Tree of Life Awakening shows are not impacted by the work at this time and are continuing as scheduled.
