Sun-Damaged Panel Refresh Begins for Planet Mars at Mission: SPACE in EPCOT

The refurbishment of the Planetary Plaza at Mission: SPACE appears to have begun its final phase with the refresh of planet Mars. Other refurbishments so far include Earth, Jupiter, the Moon, and the pavement around the plaza, but Disney left Mars for last.

While visiting EPCOT today, we noticed what appear to be new panels near the top of Mars. They appear to be new, and could even give us a look at a new color scheme. First, here’s a look at Mars from earlier this year.

And here’s a look at the new panels we spotted during our visit to EPCOT today.

From a distance, it almost looks like the panels are missing. Enhance!

A different angle allows for a better view of the work. Here’s the view from in front of the Paused Pavilion.

And a couple more photos, for posterity.
