The Disneyland Resort removed the “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” song from its Downtown Disney music loop in the past couple of weeks in a move that the company is calling “relevant” and “inclusive” as part of a Splash Mountain reimagining into a Princess and the Frog attraction.
According to the OC Register, Disney officials said that “the removal of the song from Downtown Disney’s background music is part of a continuous process to deliver an environment that features stories that are relevant and inclusive”. Disney, presumably, feels the same way about the song on the east coast as well, but hasn’t removed the song from the Magic Kingdom entrance yet.
Disneyland has also recently removed two references to the problematic Song of the South film from their website.
Disney hasn’t announced a date for Splash Mountain to close at either Disneyland or Walt Disney World, but said that they’re in the early planning stages for the new Princess and the Frog-themed refresh.

Nevermind 99% of all disney merchandise is made overseas in sweat shops . But hey… let’s ignore that. So woke Disney. So woke. Have fun with your dwindling attendance.
Nah, it’s a stupid and performative move. They had no problem with the song when they debuted their new parade earlier this year and that song was included in the music for it.
It is one of Disney’s best and most memorable tunes. You can’t help but smile when you hear. Bad move on their part to remove it. No one is offended by hearing it unless you’re a “woke snowflake” looking for something new to be offended by. And they won’t stop with that.
