Disney World has begun to notify seasonal Cast Members that they will be laid off as part of 28,000 Cast Members that will be laid off in the theme parks division of the company.
Seasonal Cast Members would typically be called into work during the busier times of the year, but with Disney deciding that they are overstaffed by about 30%, there simply won’t be any work available for seasonal Cast Members in the immediate future.
In all, Disney has said that part-time and seasonal Cast Members would make up just under 70% of the layoffs, but with the recent news that the largest Disney World union coalition negotiated no forced layoffs for full-time roles, that ratio may climb as Disney makes cuts before the end of the year.

Disney has enough $$$ to cover these CM from the TV station they own, stocks, etc. I’m so sad to see the “quality of Disney destroyed”. When I spent $$$$$ I want to experience life apart fro the hum drum of every day. I want the spectacular that used to be WDW. I’m so very disappointed in the turn that WDW HAS TAKEN.
