In a Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) meeting today, a preliminary timeline was set for the start of operations at Terminal C – Orlando International Airport’s (MCO) newest terminal expansion.
As of today, progress at South Terminal C has reached an 87 percent completion threshold. A preliminary timeline for the start of operations was set as follows:
- February 28, 2022 – Termporary Certificate of Occupancy
- May 1, 2022 – Substantial completion
- May – July 2022 – Operational readiness (transition from construction to operations teams)
- July 2022 – Start of Operations
When operational, the new terminal’s 15 gates will accommodate up to 20 aircraft and support an additional capacity of 10-12 million annual passengers.
Terminal C will include a new Disney World gift shop, a new Chef Art Smith eatery, and Wine Bar George’s second location!
More information, such as flight schedules and an exact opening date, is expected at a later time.
