Our previous update on the ongoing facade modifications for the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. gift shop saw new construction on the northwest corner of the building closest to TRON Lightcycle Run roller coaster. On a recent visit to Magic Kingdom, we noticed new sheathing installed on the corner in question as Disney continues to work on the facade.
Disney also recently closed the entire inside of the gift shop to allow for interior work ahead of the expected opening of TRON Lightcycle Run later this year or early next year. Disney has not announced an opening date for TRON Lightcycle Run, but they are expected to at the D23 Expo in mid-September.
Here’s a look at the recent work!

Crews also recently removed the gears that used to sit on the face of the facade.
