Tropical Storm Watch Issued for Walt Disney World Due to Subtropical Storm Nicole

    A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for the Walt Disney World area (Orange & Osceola County) ahead of the arrival of Subtropical Storm Nicole. A Tropical Storm Watch means tropical-storm-force winds are possible somewhere within the watch area within the next 48 hours. The window for the impact of tropical-storm-force winds is currently from Wednesday evening to Thursday afternoon and the peak wind forecast calls for wind speeds from 40-50mph with gusts to 65mph. Peak rainfall amounts are expected to be 3-6 inches.

    The Tropical Storm Watch was issued at 10:16am by the National Weather Service.

    Subtropical Storm Nicole is not currently forecasted to be as damaging as Hurricane Ian was for Florida, but forecasts are subject to change. Learn more at the National Hurricane Center: https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/#Nicole
