Here’s your Walt Disney World recap for the week ending January 27, 2019.
After 8 months of refurbishment following a very public fire, the Maleficent Dragon parade float has returned to the Festival of Fantasy parade. We were at the beginning of the parade route to capture her return and the crowd’s reaction to her breathing fire in Magic Kingdom once again.
Rare characters can now be found at Magic Kingdom as part of Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration. The Celebration kicked off January 18th and we compiled a list of what characters you can expect to see when visiting Magic Kingdom through September 30, 2019.

The Disney Skyliner gondola cabins can now be spotted in multiple stations around Walt Disney World. We made it out to Epcot to find a Wreck-It Ralph themed gondola cabin being installed in the station.
The Planet Hollywood Superstore at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be closed starting Februrary 3rd, 2019. We not only delivered you the news, but we also went out to grab some photos of the store.
The TRON roller coaster hit a bit of a milestone last week with the first cement pour related to the project. It doesn’t look like the cement pour is for the proper roller coaster gravity building, but maybe a support building. Either way, we grabbed some photos of that and the nearby Tomorrowland Speedway demolition last week.

Finally, we made it out to Magic Kingdom early yesterday morning to check out the special launch of the Alice at the Mad Tea Party Funko Pop release. The White Rabbit was hopping around with guests and we shared a look at the Ride Pop.
Of course, these aren’t the only stories we wrote this week, so be sure to check out the homepage and browse around for the latest from Walt Disney World and more!
