Walt Disney World Cast Member Unions Call on Disney to Pay Cast Members Through April 30th

Six unions that represent over 42,000 Walt Disney World Cast Members has sent a letter to Disney, asking them to extend an agreement that would result in Cast Members being paid through April 30th.

In the letter below, Union President Matt Hollis acknowledges that Disney is paying Cast Members through March 31st, but that there is no current agreement to extend payment beyond that date. With local orders in place that will effectively extend the theme park closures until at least April 9th, Cast Members are in the dark and uncertain if Disney will continue to pay Cast Members beyond March 31st.

Universal Orlando has taken a leadership position in the Central Florida tourism industry and already announced that they will be closed through April 19th and continue to pay their employees.

This letter from the Walt Disney World Unions joins a letter from Disneyland Unions calling on Disney to break its silence and inform the Cast Members responsible for making magic in the theme parks.

As of publish time, Disney Cast Members remain in the dark, and Disney theme parks are only announced to be closed through March 31st.
