RUMOR: “World Showcase” Branded Items Phased Out of Production

|

According to BlogMickey.com sources, Disney is no longer developing merchandise items with “World Showcase” branding. That’s not to say that there will no longer be new merchandise coming to World Showcase or any of the pavilions – it just won’t say “World Showcase” moving forward.

The move is reportedly to allow for more homogeneous merchandise inside the Disney theme parks and at third-party locations like Target. By removing park branding, new lines of merchandise are supposedly easier to distribute to third-party partners under a global merchandise line.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the recent release of the new Belle World Showcase branded merchandise released today is the final new World Showcase branded item that Disney will produce.

As with any rumor, you should treat this information as unofficial and unconfirmed unless and until Disney confirms it.
