Imagineer Shares Another Look Inside ‘Creations Shop’ Construction at EPCOT

Light is an important material in our new designs – a way of creating a feeling of openness and connection between all these new spaces and our broader World Celebration neighborhood.
 
Some of the more visible elements of our Creations Shop design are the light wells that span the arc across the rear of both original CommuniCore structures on the east side of the park. As I shared in earlier posts, our design parti uses radial and arc shapes to give order and a classic EPCOT aesthetic to these spaces. We will restore these iconic elements that trace all the way back to the original buildings from the park’s opening – converting them to internally-lit elements to promote greater sustainability while still giving warmth of light from above into our new shop.
 
We captured a few progress shots of the construction to show you how these elements are taking shape – and we can’t wait to share more as the completed Creations Shop returns to EPCOT this summer!
