Disney World & Cast Member Unions Still At Impasse Over Wages, Healthcare, and More

Disney World and the Service Trades Council Union (STCU) have completed an additional two days of negotiating over a new contract that will cover more than 41,000 Walt Disney World Cast Members. This is the fourth round of negotiations for the STCU and Disney World dating back to late August. Unite Here Local 362, one of the union groups part of the STCU, offered the following update:

Negotiations with Disney Management have ended for this week. Progress was made on the effective date of an increase to the 3rd shift premium and the topic of bargaining over the Consumer Choice medical plan. The remaining open items include wages, healthcare costs, child bonding leave, guarantee of hours, premiums, and Pension plan enrollment. The next bargaining sessions have been scheduled for November 29 and December 1.
