Disney World has stopped sales of the Disney Genie+ service today. This marks the first time that the service has ever sold out since Disney World announced the ability for the service to sell out back in June 2022. The Disney Genie+ service has sold out at Disneyland multiple times.

The fact that the service sold out is a bit odd, in our opinion. Back in October 2022, Disney announced that the price of the service would be variable, and change daily based on anticipated demand. The fact that the price of the product is able to change daily means that Disney should be able to anticipate the demand for the product based on years of historical data and the Disney Park Pass reservation system, and adjust the price of the service as needed. In theory, selling out of the Disney Genie+ “supply” represents a failure to price the service correctly.

Either way, the service has now sold out for the first time ever and new purchases are not allowed. Guests who have already purchased Disney Genie+ can continue to utilize the service and whichever Lightning Lanes are still available.
