PHOTOS: Launch Tunnel Construction Begins for Guardians of the Galaxy Roller Coaster

Disney has begun the work required to connect the existing Universe of Energy pavilion and the huge gravity building that will house the majority of the Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster. We stopped by Epcot today to find that a steel structure has begun to “go vertical”. The steel seen in the photos below surrounds the roller coaster support beams that we first spotted late last month.

The launch tunnel is represented in red in the permit below.

Here’s a look at the gravity building itself from the Epcot parking lot.

The Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster is set to open before the end of 2021.
