Permits Filed for Splash Mountain, Frontierland Eateries Roof Work

A series of permits has been filed today that indicate that there will be some upcoming roof work in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom. The following locations are listed in the permits as awaiting roof work:

  • Splash Mountain Ascent Flume
  • Golden Oak Outpost
  • Churro Wagon Cart

There is no scheduled downtime for Splash Mountain upcoming, so it’s unlikely that the roof work will be nearly as extensive as what we saw in February 2020.

That said, the target for the work is listed as the ascent lift building that received roof work a year ago.

As you may know, Splash Mountain is scheduled to be reimagined into a Princess and the Frog-themed attraction. Disney has not given a closure date for Splash Mountain at Walt Disney World or Disneyland. That said, Disney has said that they are fast-tracking the project. Another project that aims to make the Disney Parks more inclusive is the nearby Jungle Cruise reimagining, which is scheduled to be completed later this year, but hasn’t started just yet.
