Recent reports suggest that the Main Street Confectionery will be opening on July 4th. The reports point to the general Walt Disney World daily calendar, which has been updated through July 10th. Sure enough, if you were to visit the Walt Disney World daily calendar for July 4th, the Main Street Confectionery isn’t listed as under refurbishment. The same daily calendar lists the sweets shop as under refurbishment just a day earlier on July 3rd. If that were the end of the story, it would be easy to assume that the Confectionery will reopen on July 4th, but that’s not the whole story.

As you might know, Disney typically releases their theme park hours one week at a time. As of publish time, the calendar shows theme park hours through July 10th. Keeping that one-week release schedule in mind, we can work a week back to find what date? July 3rd. July 3rd is the last day that the Main Street Confectionery is listed as under refurbishment on the daily calendar…and here’s why – the calendar for that particular location has not been updated past July 3rd. We’ve seen this before with locations under refurbishment, and we expect that the location will soon match the general Walt Disney World calendar and show it under refurbishment through at least July 10th.

In speaking with Cast Members, they have cited October 1, 2021 as their target reopening date. That doesn’t mean that the Main Street Confectionery will open on October 1, 2021, just that the project is intended to be completed and the location reopened by October 1, 2021. Either way, the Main Street Confectionery does not show any operating dates yet, so it’s too early to say when the sweets shop will reopen.
