French President Mandates COVID-19 Passes for Dining, Shopping, Transportation, and More

In an address to the nation, French President Emmanuel Macron mandated special COVID-19 passes for anyone wishing to dine out in a restaurant, visit a shopping mall, or get on a train or plane. The pass will be available to people who either present proof of their fully vaccinated status, that they recently recovered from COVID-19, or that they had a recent negative test.

A newly reinstated medical state of emergency will be declared for the nation, which will allow authorities more freedom to impose restrictions to mitigate the spread of the virus.

Disneyland Paris has not issued a statement in response to Macron’s mandate, but will likely have to in the coming days as the vaccine pass will encompass various parts of the resort.
