Show Lighting Not Working Properly, Xandarian Ship Literally Broken at Walt Disney Imagineering Presents The EPCOT Experience

Walt Disney Imagineering Presents The EPCOT Experience is an amazing display of projection mapping, immersive sound, and wonderful visuals…normally. Unfortunately, the best attraction at EPCOT is looking a little bit rough right now with incorrect lighting effects and a broken set piece for a marquee attraction.

The show lighting is not working properly, and is constantly lighting the entire model. Ideally, the lighting effects would dim and highlight certain sections of the model as seen in our archive photos below.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a lighting effect that is constantly turned on, making it difficult to see the proper lighting effects as seen above.

This same lighting effect stays on throughout the show, even in sections when it is supposed to dim away to nearly black.

    Versus.

Perhaps a more concerning thing than incorrect lighting is that somehow the Xandarian Nova Corps Starblaster ship has been damaged, losing quite a few of its wings.

Here’s a look back at what it is supposed to look like.

And here’s a look at the ship as it sits today.

    1. Hi Mike,
I’m a entertainment tech, not for WDW but for another park. And I just wanted to say that there is no light malfunction here. Just the work lights got left on. Everything was working fine. Just someone forgot the switch.

      • To clarify again…the “effects” you are referring to for the sequence are all programed into a lighting board. The light that was constantly on is just a light you would have in your kitchen that someone just forgot to turn off. It has nothing to do with the effects.
