Disney World has just updated its Cast Member blockout schedule to reflect a massive shift in blockout dates. Last month, we reported that Cast Members were finding it difficult to get into the Walt Disney World theme parks to enjoy an employment perk of free admission.
Now, it looks like Disney has removed all blockout dates for all four Walt Disney World theme parks through late May.
First, here’s a look back at the blockout calendar as of March 30, 2022. Yellow indicates partial blockouts, blue represents no blockouts, and red indicates full blockouts.
Here’s a look at the new blockout calendar. Before the Disney Park Pass system, the Cast Member blockout could serve as a good indicator of expected crowd levels. Now, the Disney Park Pass system acts as a final filter on crowd levels.
While it’s encouraging to see that Cast Members are no longer fully prohibited from visiting a theme park, they still have to deal with their own Disney Park Pass availability that is separate from the blockout calendar.
Disney Cast Members could still be effectively blocked out of visiting the Disney World theme parks should the Park Pass availability be extremely restricted. BlogMickey.com does not have visibility into the Disney Park Pass situation for Cast Members. Availability likely remains extremely limited over the next two weeks as even guests are finding it difficult to make Disney Park Passes.
