Anaheim Admissions Tax Proposal Fails; 2% Tax Will Not Be Applied to Disneyland Tickets

Last night, the Anaheim city council met to discuss the proposed admissions tax that would have added a 2% tax on big event venues including the Disneyland Resort. The city tweeted that the proposal failed after failing to get a second city council vote. Mayor Pro Tem Trevor O’Neil said that he did not support the measure. Council Member Jose Moreno, the requester of the proposal, even offered to exclude Anaheim residents from the tax, but it still didn’t pass.

Disneyland did not speak publicly about the proposal.
