Contractors Claim More Than $2.1 Million Unpaid for TRON Lightcycle Run

A pair of liens have been filed against Walt Disney Imagineering by two contractors for work on TRON Lightcycle Run. Both contractors were hired through the construction package by The Whiting Turner Contracting Company, a longtime contractor that works with Walt Disney Imagineering.

The smaller of the two liens is for $609,188.48 for work described as “labor, services, and materials consisting of structural steel construction improvements and related services”.

The larger lien is for $1,559,088.53 for work described as “metal stud system, insulation, EIFS, and gypsum”.

While filed liens are not necessarily common for construction projects at Walt Disney World, they aren’t unheard of. Back in June 2020, a contractor filed a $1.5 million lien against Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway for unpaid work. Other liens have been filed in the past on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, Riviera Hotel, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and more.
