Hoar Construction, one of the main contractors who worked on Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, has claimed that Disney still owes them $1.5 million for work related to the project.
In the lien document filed with the state, Hoar Construction claims that Disney contracted them for work totaling $56.8 million, of which $1.5 million remains unpaid. The document references work on “Project M”, which we found to mean “Project Marceline”.
The lien claims that work began on August 15, 2017 and ended on March 18, 2020. A notice was given to Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and is valid for one year. The lien was filed on June 10th.
Hoar Construction is a prominent contractor for Disney, working on projects like New Fantasyland, Flamingo Crossings, Mission: SPACE, Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster, and more.
Disney has announced that they plan on saving nearly $1 billion in capital expenditures this year by pausing construction and refurbishment projects at its theme parks.
