Redesigned Morocco Pavilion Fountain & Courtyard Unveiled at EPCOT

Following our sneak peek at the work, all construction walls have been removed from the Morocco Pavilion courtyard and fountain at EPCOT. The fountain, which used to feature hand-laid tile from artists flown in from Morocco, now features a more pedestrian look after being re-tiled. The planters around the courtyard were also redesigned, and much-needed trees were removed. The entire plaza is now incredibly unshaded – not great for the hot summer ahead.

First, here’s a look back at the fountain featuring the hand-laid tiles from Moroccan artists.

And here’s a look at the plaza from our visit to EPCOT earlier today!

The rest of the pavilion has damaged tiles and other details that were hand-laid by Moroccan artists. Those will likely need to be replaced soon too, and the refurbishment of the fountain doesn’t instill much confidence.
